Person Centred Therapy
Whether you are seeking support with grief, sexuality, anxiety, depression, work-related pressure, low self-esteem, relationships, the list is endless, counselling can evoke change.
I understand that it can take a great deal of courage to reach out to a counsellor for the first time.
I offer is a space to reflect, explore and work through those barriers and challenges you are facing.
How does it work?
I work within a person-centred approach, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. Rather than being prescriptive or solution focused I will sit alongside you creating the right environment for you to be curious, explore and heal.
The core qualities that I bring to our relationship
Empathy - I will do my best to understand your experience from your perspective, as if it were my own, without judgement.
Unconditional positive regard - I will offer you consistent warmth and acceptance, whoever you are and whatever you bring, without condition.
Congruence - I will be genuine and real with you, rather than hiding behind a professional mask.
In person, Online or Phone sessions
Rooms in Cookham and Maidenhead, Berkshire.
Initial 30 min free phone conversation
I offer an initial 30 min free phone conversation before a first appointment so you can get a sense of what the work will be like and whether I am the right therapist for you.
Research and decades of practice suggest that these relational qualities, more than any particular technique, are what create the conditions for meaningful change.
